Salvador by Casambi – A hybrid approach to DALI controls

The Salvador Series is the latest offering from Casambi, enhancing its DALI integration functionalities. This series allows for the individual programming and management of up to 64 DALI luminaires directly through the Casambi App. Salvador by Casambi not only facilitates the expansion of existing DALI networks but also supports the creation of hybrid networks that include both Casambi Ready and DALI devices.

With this system, all DALI luminaires can be programmed and controlled similarly to Casambi Ready devices, thus removing the requirement for a DALI Controller. This integration allows users to leverage Casambi’s user-friendly interface within wired DALI setups. Additionally, multiple Salvador units can be wirelessly interconnected to establish a single Casambi mesh network, which can accommodate up to 250 nodes, regardless of whether they are DALI or Casambi Ready.

The Salvador also enables the extraction and application of D4i data from the DALI network. Data from both DALI and Casambi devices is communicated through the Casambi mesh to the Casambi Cloud via the Casambi Cloud Gateway, allowing for integration with third-party systems or solutions through the Casambi API. This provides a simple and cost-effective approach to linking a DALI system to the cloud and integrating with other systems.

How does it work?  

With Salvador, wired and wireless devices can coexist harmoniously in Casambi applications with no limitations when mixing different product types. DALI drivers integrate into the Casambi system through wired connections, operating seamlessly as normal Casambi-enabled devices. The first two form factors in the series can manage up to 64 DALI addresses and support DALI DT6, DT8, as well as D4i via the Casambi cloud API.  

Salvador Series 1000

 The Salvador Series 1000 product family includes three models: SAL-1016, SAL-1032 and SAL-1064. 

• SAL-1016: Can address up to 16 DALI driver addresses. 
• SAL-1032: Can address up to 32 DALI driver addresses. 
• SAL-1064: Can address the maximum allowed 64 DALI driver addresses.

The Salvador 1000 series requires an external power supply for the DALI bus.

Salvador Series 2000

Our Salvador Series seamlessly integrates wired DALI drivers into the Casambi system. The Salvador 2000 series comes with integrated power supply and an internal Real-time clock (RTC).

Salvador Series 3000

The Salvador Series 3000 product family currently includes one model: SAL-3016. The product can address up to 16 DALI devices, and comes with an integrated 32 mA bus power supply for DALI operation.
